Choose the fade height
A low fade stays close to the ears and neckline. A mid fade moves the transition higher for a balanced, modern look. A high fade creates the strongest contrast. If you are unsure, point to where you want the shortest section to end.
Say how short the bottom should be
“Fade” describes a transition, not one exact length. Tell your stylist whether you want skin at the bottom or a little visible hair. A softer starting length usually grows out more gradually than a skin fade.
Describe the top by outcome
